Located in SF's North Beach district, Pinotti & Associates is made up of a team of accounting professionals; many of our teammates have known each other since grade-school. A group of light hearted individuals, our team enjoys a good sports game, friendly banter, golfing, & clear, productive tax preparation. Once a client, many stay on for years and years. Luigi Pinotti, Founder and CPA
Luigi Pinotti, a native of San Francisco's North Beach, received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of San Francisco.
Before founding Pinotti & Associates, Inc., in 2008, Lou was a valued member of Calegari & Morris where he served his clientele of small businesses, contractors, real estate companies and individuals for over 23 years.
Luigi also has held positions in the tax departments of two San Francisco accounting firms: John F. Forbes & Co. and KMG Main Hurdmann, where he was a tax supervisor.
An active member of his community, Lou participates in a number of North Beach organizations.
While he attended USF, he was member of its baseball team and a proud player to be coached by the legendary coach, Dante Benedetti.

Salvatore Crivello, CPA
Salvatore Crivello received his Bachelor of Arts in International Management with a concentration in Accounting. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Dominican University of California in San Rafael, California. Salvatore is a certified public accountant licensed in the states of California (active), Massachusetts (active) and in the District of Columbia (inactive). Before joining Pinotti and Associates, Sal was a senior manager with Deloitte Tax LLP where he focused on the taxation of partnerships and limited liability companies primarily in the venture capital and private equity industries. Much of his experience involves advising clients on transactions regarding joint ventures, restructurings, and preparation and review of tax returns. From 2013 to 2016, Sal served as a member of Deloitte's Washington National Tax Passthroughs Group in Washington, D.C. where he specialized in federal partnership taxation. He has consulted clients and collaborated with legal counsel on tax planning and structuring using partnerships for clients in the aerospace, energy, financial services, manufacturing, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical industries. Outside of work, Sal serves on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Baseball Academy , enjoys traveling domestically and internationally, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and his golden retriever, Cousin Vinny.

Brendan Dwyer, CPA
Brendan Dwyer graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco in 2008 with a degree in accounting. Shortly after graduation he worked as a staff accountant in Hood & Strong's tax department.
Brendan is a licensed CPA in the State of California. He joined Pinotti and Associates in 2011 and has been vital in our growth and development. His areas of expertise are compliance for individuals and pass-through entities, audit representations against the IRS and FTB as well as tax planning.
Brendan's biggest assets are his availability to his clients as well as his hands-on approach to helping clients minimize their tax liability while not exposing them to tax authorities.
Outside of work, Brendan enjoys spending time with his wife and his three children. He also enjoys golfing, exercising, and watching football.

Filippo D'Asaro, CPA
Filippo "Phil" D'Asaro has been a part of Pinotti And Associates for over a decade. His field of expertise is in individual tax preparation and small business accounting.
Phil is a CTEC registered Tax Preparer and listed on the National Directory of Registered Tax Preparers and Professionals.
Before joining Pinotti & Associates, Phil worked for Pitney Bowes as a service technician earning his A+ certification. He has also worked in the restaurant industry in accounting and management.
Born and raised in San Francisco's North Beach, he obtained an Associate Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from City College of San Francisco and later finishing up his education at San Francisco State University.
An avid soccer fan, Phil will impress with his knowledge of Serie A (Italian Soccer) and the Premier League (English Soccer).

Tyler Jew, CPA
Tyler Jew graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California. A South Bay native, he grew up in Saratoga.
Before joining Pinotti and Associates, Tyler was a Tax Manager at KPMG LLP, where he advised clients on federal, state, and international corporate tax matters.
His experience includes working with companies ranging from small pre-IPO startups to Fortune 500 corporations.
Outside of work, he enjoys following the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors, traveling, trying new restaurants and cuisines, and working out.
Tyler also enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that be reading in the sun, spending time with his cat, Eve, or relaxing with friends and family.

Vince Passanisi, CPA
Vince Passanisi earned his Master of Accounting in Tax degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Before joining Pinotti and Associates, Vince worked at KPMG LLP where he focused primarily on tax compliance and consulting services to exempt healthcare and educational organizations.
Vince is a licensed CPA in California, an active Notary, and serves on the board of a handful of local non-profits. Vince enjoys educating receptive clients to the nuances of tax law and strategizing ways to save on your taxes.
If you meet him in the office, he’ll show you his 35mm film photos of his wife and son, he’ll explain the benefits of commuting via bicycle, and he’ll surely offer you some of his fresh baked bread as well.
When he is not buried in the volumes of the internal revenue code, you’ll find him snowboarding, cheering on his beloved San Jose Sharks, or hiking about with his family.

Basia Carroll, Certified Tax Preparer
Basia Carroll joined Pinotti & Associates in 2022 as the Operations Manager, during which she spearheaded client data collection processes and served as one of the leaders of P&A’s technology transformation, all while learning about individual and business income taxes. In 2025, she completed her California Tax Education Council (CTEC) certification and thusly became a certified tax-return preparer.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Basia went to college for Interior Design, which remains a passion of hers and still inspires her creativity. Out of the office, Basia loves to travel, have quality time with family and friends, eat her way through cuisines of the world, and spend time cozying up with her cat, Musha, and a good book.
Prior to entering the tax world, Basia spent a decade in customer service and general management roles in both hospitality and design industries. She has been able to successfully leverage the skills she gained in those roles, making her a personable, responsive, and adaptive addition to the Pinotti and Associates team.

Amanda Saeed, Operations Manager
Amanda Saeed carries her Master of Arts in English from the University of Oregon, with specific expertise in rhetorical theory, communications, logical reasoning, and critical analysis.
After working for five years as an office manager at a legal firm, she joined Pinotti & Associates in the summer of 2025. She is now the right hand 'Manda to our lovely tax professionals.
Born and raised in the beautiful sunset district of San Francisco, Amanda loves when she can find time to get to the beach and admire the ocean. She loves spending time with her fiancée and their cat, Cosette. Outside of work, Amanda is a professional private educator, poet, painter, and activist. She has three published poetry collections and is working on her fourth.
Having spent her college and grad school years managing restaurants and cafés, Amanda is also a coffee and tea afficionado. Moreover, she loves to add whimsy to her everyday activities. If you visit our office, you will notice her decorative desk and welcoming, bright presence. She will happily make you some coffee.

Mari Pinotti, Office Manager
Mari Pinotti is a born and raised San Franciscan from the North Beach district. She is the daughter of Luigi Pinotti, and has been with Pinotti & Associates since 2020.
An alumna of the Art Institute, Mari is a professional photographer. Outside of work, she loves fashion, a good giants game, and enjoys days in the city with her adoring boyfriend and her dog, Lando. If you stop by the office during the earlier part of the business week, you may get to meet Lando yourself.
Mari is our office manager and point person for client questions, payments, and general scheduling of appointments. Feel free to reach out to her with anything you may need.
